This is an entirely new class designed to elevate the standard of short films developed and produced in Houston. This is less a how-to class and more of a development workshop. Like The First Draft, this workshop is designed so the participant writes a high-quality produceable script under the supervision and development of a professional writer.

- Tell a story rather than express an intellectual idea
- Know when a story is worth telling
- Create dramatic questions
- Find dramatic conflict and obstacles
- Create and exploit cinematic moments
- Use structure to liberate rather than restrict storytelling
- Find and utilize “the game” in comedy shorts.
