Garrick's consulting was seriously the best money I've ever spent on screenwriting.
If I could go back I would have skipped all contests/coverage sites and got stellar notes to improve my craft all along.

Garrick is a thoughtful, detailed, and useful creative partner to have in your corner. He'll never throw in the towel, and there's a good chance you can become the next heavyweight champion of screenwriting.

Personal Screenplay Development Consultations are for screenwriters who feel they are either ready for feedback on a current project or want to get a better sense of where they are as a writer.
This kind of development is not coverage. It is not a summary and a generic list of notes. It is a careful read of your screenplay, and a one-on-one meeting with Garrick to discuss what's working, what could use improvement, and next steps for the following draft.
This is a high-level session with an experienced development exec designed to refine your project and get it to a professional level as soon as possible.

Massvie shout out to Garrick Dion for his excellent notes on my latest script. His were unlike any other notes I've had before, and I really appreciated his development-based insights. Thanks, man!
- Jake Thornton, Screenwriter, Hulu's THE PRINCESS.
I've been working in film for 20 years, and have developed a network of trusted readers for my work. I took a project developed in a writers group to Tom, that had been read by a host of others, all of whom said it was "ready to go."
Tom was still able to identify character arcs and emotional resonances that needed clarifying, plot points that were landing in the wrong place, and provide targeted feedback that immensely improved the script. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Since Story and Plot's inception, Tom has sold multiple screenplays and seen six additional movies produced from his work, including WINCHESTER, with Helen Mirren.
Throughout those years, he always kept teaching.
And in that time, he has invited exactly one screenwriting consultant to join Story and Plot, Garrick Dion.

I was hitting a wall with this script and unsure how to take it to the next level. Garrick was great about finding opportunities for me to push this script in a direction that both elevated the story and stayed true to my voice.

Garrick Dion
Obsessed with stories and their tellers since childhood, Garrick Dion has three decades of experience in the Film & Television industry, having started his career as an intern for THE MATRIX producer Joel Silver.
After 10 years as a studio development exec for WB, New Regency and Artisan/Lionsgate, he migrated to “the other side of the desk”, as a screenwriter and story consultant on various projects for WB (including the Nicholas Sparks adaptation A WALK TO REMEMBER), Mandalay, Endgame and the SyFy Channel, before ultimately returning to development/production, albeit this time in the world of “high net worth”, financier-backed independents.
As SVP of Development for Bold Films, he helped produce such successful films as NIGHTCRAWLER, DRIVE, and the Sundance- and Academy Award-winning WHIPLASH, while as Head of Story for Vancouver-based BRON Studios he was the company’s first LA hire, subsequently working on a vast slate including TULLY, THE FRONT RUNNER, and LEAVE NOTRACE, while creating and overseeing in-house genre label The Realm, for which he produced the sci-fi feature PROSPECT and the darkly comic thriller VILLAINS.
A script consultant and independent producer of both visual and audio media — including several Top 10 podcasts for Voyage Media — he is currently based out of Los Angeles.
Garrick has a wonderful grasp of story and character dynamics, a deep understanding of cinema history and the tropes inherent within (including a lot of lesser seen films), and is all around affable.
